Getting around Waldorf is so easy.
Route 310 goes north to Baltimore and South to Virginia via the 301 Bridge to Dahlgren.
Route 5 (Branch Avenue farther north goes to DC north and to St. Mary's County south (through Hughesville).
Route 228 {Berry Road} goes directly from 301 in the heart of Waldorf to Route 210 (Indian Head Road) to the Washington Beltway and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to Virginia OR to Route 295 and the 11th Street Bridge to downtown DC.
Charles County is part rural. Waldorf (St. Charles) is urban.
